Reversed effects of Alzheimer’s by going plant based
Alzheimer's Disease (AD) has been an increasingly prevalent health concern in recent decades, with over 6.7 million Americans aged 65 and above currently living with the condition. The likelihood of knowing someone affected by AD is quite high, and this number is projected to double by 2060 unless there are breakthroughs in prevention, slowing, or curing the disease.
However, this article offers a refreshing glimpse of hope amid the toll AD takes on individuals and their caregivers. It highlights the inspiring stories of two AD patients, Nicholls and Zarbe, who made significant lifestyle changes to improve their well-being.
Their journey included adopting a plant-based diet, eliminating dairy and animal protein, avoiding processed and sugary foods, and incorporating regular physical activity into their routines. The results were remarkable: After just nine weeks, Nicholls lost 21 pounds and gained muscle mass, leaving his doctor pleasantly surprised by the rapid transformation his body underwent.
The substantial lifestyle adjustments Zerbe and Nicholls made helped them feel better overall, and their doctors were delighted to witness improvements in their Alzheimer's symptoms. While their physicians did not claim a complete remission of the disease, they were excited about the positive outcomes resulting from healthy eating habits and regular exercise.
These heartening accounts serve as a reminder that embracing a holistic approach to wellness can significantly impact individuals living with Alzheimer's Disease, offering a glimmer of hope for those navigating this challenging condition.
