Events for the upcoming week

  • On Friday, November 22nd Everyday Works will offer Walk around tasting with moonlight dining 7pm onwards. Ticket purchase and details can be found here.

  • On Friday, November 22nd, vegan chef Hank will be serving popular and delicious vegan dishes such as Frito pie and five bean chili as well as introducing some new dishes at Charlieā€™s Silver Lounge 9pm onwards. For details visit here.

  • On Saturday, November 23rd, Chef Frank May prepared vegan sandwiches and nachos will be be available at Everyday Works from 10am to 2pm.

  • On Saturday, November 23rd at 1pm, Chef Julia will be conducting a
    12 Days of Cookies Class (Plant Based Oil Free). Hereā€™s the link for details and to register.

  • On Saturday November 23rd, Pizza Verde celebrates itā€™s 3 year anniversary. They will be offering prizes and champagne all day long.

  • On Saturday November 23rd, the DFW Vegan Ladies will meet here at 3pm.

  • On Saturday November 23rd, Get Local Vegan group will meet at JS International Grill to experience Vegan Caribbean flavors from 2-3:30 pm. To join the group and for details, visit here.

  • On Saturday November 23rd, Irvingā€™s Valley Ranch library MiY will offer itā€™s visitors an opportunity to make their custom vegan leather bookmarks using a laser etcher from 3-4:30pm.

  • On Saturday November 23rd, the Zend - Final farm and sanctuary will be hosting yoga, meditation and sound bath session from 4-7pm in Justin TX. Details can be found here.

  • On Saturday November 23rd, Vegan Chef Hank will have a pop up at The Usual in Fort Worth 8pm onwards.

Twelve Eatery, a vegan restaurant in Bournemouth, won two awards at the DMB Awards, including the Eating Out Experience award and a silver in Tourism Business of the Year. Founded by Dalton Mello and Greg Rush, who transitioned from working in non-vegan restaurants, the establishment has received numerous accolades, including being named the fifth-best restaurant in the world for vegan food by TripAdvisor. The restaurant offers innovative vegan dishes inspired by its seaside location, such as Tofu and Chips and Vegetable and Prawn Tempura, while maintaining a commitment to sustainability and animal welfare.

  • Dr. Greger has come out with a new book called ā€œOZEMPIC: Risks, Benefits, and Natural Alternatives to GLP-1 Weight-Loss Drugsā€ where he argues being whole food plant based is better than Ozempic.

  • During Thanksgiving, some families argue about food because some people are vegan and others are not. But Thanksgiving is really about spending time together and being happy with your family. If everyone tries to be kind and make small changes, like having some plant-based dishes or meat dishes, everyone can enjoy the meal and have a great time together. Recipe of the week

Ingredients

  • Ā½ cup (75 g) Medjool dates pitted

  • 400 g can chickpeas drained and rinsed

  • ā…“ cup (95 g) peanut butter

  • Ā¼ cup (30 g) vegan vanilla protein powder

  • Ā¼ cup (60 ml) soy milk plus extra if needed

  • Ā¼ cup (60 ml) rice malt syrup

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ā…“ cup (65 g) dark chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Soak the dates in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain. Combine the chickpeas, peanut butter, vanilla protein powder, soy milk, rice malt syrup, vanilla extract, dates and a pinch of salt in a food processor.

  • Process until thick and smooth, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed. Add a dash more soy milk if too thick.

  • Transfer the mixture to a bowl and add the chocolate chips and mix well. Spoon mixture into jars and serve.
