Vegan Vibes: Dallas Vegan Insider Style

Hi everyone! I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Rusia (you may also know me as Victoria) and I’m the face behind Dallas Vegan Insider on Facebook and Instagram. I am also an admin for Facebook groups such as North Texas Vegans and DFW Veggie Lovers, and was the artist formerly known as “Map Girl” who created a Google Maps of all vegan restaurants that has since been retired. If you’re not familiar with my current Dallas Vegan Insider (DVI) content, I am known for creating bi-monthly calendars that list all the vegan events and pop-ups going on in the greater Dallas area. I also post heavily through Stories and Highlights on Instagram to provide you daily updates, vendor lists for special occasions like Super Bowl Sunday and Valentine’s Day, and shine the occasional spotlight on vegan vendors who aren’t commonly known.

I’ve been graciously given the opportunity to be the new voice of the Vegan Vibes newsletter. And with that, you will be seeing some content changes. Vegan Vibes will also be moving away from a schedule as my calendars are usually bi-monthly. You may see an occasional email mid-week as new events arise that didn’t make it on the calendar. While I may not have the writing prowess or even the bandwidth of Mita in providing you with national headline news or recipes, I will do what I do best and let you know of the goings on in this city. Get ready for Vegan Vibes: Dallas Vegan Insider style!

Vegan Social Groups 🍻

Here are meetups from the various local vegan groups. Feel free to use my Dallas Vegan Insider Linktree to direct you to each group. DFW Veggie Lovers also offers those who are not on Facebook to be on their Gmail mailing. Feel free to message me for the Gmail address.

Recurring Vegan Pop-Ups 🍽️

Schedules are always subject to change especially same-day for some vendors. It’s best to to go to the source to make sure they’ll be there! I know that Chef Hank of Charlie’s Star Lounge is a recent addition to Barbara’s Pavilion next week, so start time is not yet confirmed, including the addition of Saturday for Charlie’s Star Lounge.

It’s the month of love and what better way to show love of animals than help fund local sanctuaries! If you aren’t interested in any of the items listed, you could always be a Sanctuary Hero and donate directly!

For vegans who are interested in activism, feel free to visit Animal Connection of Texas (ACT) as they have various campaigns/protests scheduled throughout the month. Here are upcoming events organized by the community for the first half of the month.

Vendor Spotlights

  • Sigree Grill Indian Restaurant and Banquet in Addison cancelled their Tuesday vegan buffets a few months back. However, they just launched a brand new ghost kitchen on DoorDash, Vegan Bowl Factory.

  • A new vegan vendor has come into the scenes, Teo’s Plant Kitchen on Instagram and Facebook.

  • Two new Indian vegan/vegetarian businesses have opened up in the last two months: Namma Mysur Kitchen operating inside of TRU Plant-Based Kitchen, the only plant-based commercial kitchen in DFW! And Chaitanya’s Delights, operating in Dallas who offers catering and delivery! I can attest to the deliciousness of Chaitanya’s Delights as I recently enjoyed my first anniversary dinner catered by them!

We have a local vegan podcast? It’s called Annoying Vegans and you can find them on Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, and Rumble! Be sure to subscribe as they give social commentary on the latest topics, trends, and headline news about all vegan things! They also have several vegan guests like the Colorful Courtney, vegan social media agent and influencer, Alli Chambers, founder of The Zend: Final Farm & Sanctuary in Justin, TX and even yours truly as a “fan of the show.”
